Sounds silly but some people may not know what a Personal Trainer is, or what they get for their money. Every Personal Trainer is different and may offer different packages and services. I offer online personal training too and makes me accessible to anyone, wherever you live and what ever goal you have or support you need.
A personal trainer is someone who can help you reach your goals, you have to choose the right PT for you and be able to provide results. A PT is someone you have a one to one session with, who motivates you, guides you and invests their time, experience and knowledge in you.
For my clients I like to include the following in my packages or single sessions for free:
- Fitness assessments and tests
- Support sheets and free subscription to my PT client support emails
- Free programme for gym or home
- Updated programmes for my regular clients
Personal Training isn’t just about the physical element its about the mental too.
Clients can be trained how to exercise efficiently, but what about the mentality of the client? The client may struggle to train in the gym alone/ struggle to find time or confidence to train themselves. The Personal Trainer should help, and work with the client to overcome hurdles and mental barriers.
Personal Trainers can become friends and therapists too, listening to your problems and frustrations or just boosting your confidence and being someone to talk to confidentially.
I believe Personal Training is about the whole person, inside and out, I like to get to know my clients and their needs aswell as how I can help them with their nutrition. There is no point training someone and not giving them the knowledge to eat for their training.
I will go into more depth later about training and nutrition. Or you can opt into my email subscription where you will get free tips and advice.
A personal trainer should be inspiring, motivating and help the client reach the goals they are aspiring too. This can be any goal from wanting to run 5km or wanting to be able to do a full pull up.
A Personal Trainer should be interested in you as a person and helping you, not just taking your money. I see so many trainers who eat whilst they are training their clients, look hungover or half asleep. This to me isn’t professional, if you are paying £35-45 a session you want the Personal trainer to be dedicated to you the whole time, looking fit and ready to go, leading from example.
But for now if you are looking to change your body, your mentality and self esteem/confidence, then you will benefit from Personal Training.
